Part Description
This is an Engine Cylinder Head Gasket manufactured under the Detroit Corteco brand family. It is a standalone, premium composite combustion seal reinforced with steel wire fire-rings around the combustion chambers. It is designed to withstand the unique expansion rates of aluminum boxer engines, providing an airtight seal between the cylinder case and the head deck to maintain compression and keep engine coolant from entering the oil passages.
Vehicle Fitment
The database reference "Subaru 1595CC" isolates the 1.6L (1595cc) OHV 8-Valve horizontally opposed Flat-4 engine, natively known as the Subaru EA71 platform. This individual head gasket fits the following pre-2005 production vehicles:
- 1976–1981 Subaru DL / GL / GF Sedan & Coupe (1.6L H4 / EA71)
- 1976–1981 Subaru DL / GL Wagon (1.6L H4 / EA71)
- 1978–1981 Subaru Brat (1.6L H4 / EA71)
- 1982–1989 Subaru Hatchback Base & GL (1.6L H4 / EA71 budget/fleet variants)
(Note: Because the EA71 engine uses a boxer design with two separate cylinder heads, a full engine repair requires purchasing two of this part number to seal both banks).

About Toohey Parts collection
These parts came from an abandoned warehouse in Louisville
Kentucky, after G.W. Toohey closed his 15 parts stores in the Kentucky area in
2001
We collected and shipped close to 200,000.00 new and reman
N.O.S. parts from this Warehouse.
The Toohey parts stores were closed in 2001 and the parts we
have for sale are all new or remanufactured parts from the 60s, 70s, 80s and
90s.
The net proceeds from these parts go to the non-profit
foundation in the efforts to fund our goals and help older and future
motorheads
